GMP is providing landscape architectural design services for Welk Resorts for Canyon Villas, a 240-unit time-share development within the Welk Village Resort in Escondido, CA.

The 20.89-acre site includes a Spanish style interior courtyard, inspired by the mission style architectural theme, featuring a relocated historical specimen Oak tree as the focal point. The landscape, comprised of native California plantings, is accentuated by tropical Mediterranean accents throughout. The landscape design includes a drought tolerant plant palette to conserve water and to meet brush management requirements. Additional design features include raised planters and courtyards on podium over the parking garage provide gathering areas for the guests and opportunities for The Welk Resort Group to market weddings and other moderately sized outdoor gatherings ideal for our southern California climate.

GMP involvement to date includes providing theming, conceptual design and we anticipate moving to landscape construction documents.
